At last, quite a few of the devices around my house are now USB C and QuickCharge 3 compatible.
I have had a number of portable batteries in both bigger and smaller capacities but all of them have been based on micro usb and standard speed charges.
This one hits a near perfect compromise between a few things. It is just about right on size and weight, when you get in to the 30,000 mAH banks you are talking about something that is no longer really portable, great for keepiong in a caravan or the back of your car for emergencies but you are not going to want to lug that around in hand luggage or a back pack.
This one just hits that sweet spot for me where it is not TOO heavy and bulky to take on holiday or shove in a ruck sack to go camping with.
Build quality is as good as I have come to expect from Aukey. Both looking and feeling solid in construction.
Connectivity wise you are covered for pretty much everything.
The USB C port covers both in and out.
There is a micro usb input and then 2 USB A outputs, one bring quickcharge 3 and the other one a standard output.
All outputs benefit from Aukeys AiPower output which intelligently works out the power required by the device you have plugged in and matches it.
Charge left in the device is indicated by the colour of the power button. It is not massively accurate but does provide you with a good sense of how much power is left.
When it glows red there is 0-30%
Green between 30% and 70% and white when over 70%
Charging it in full from scratch is going to take some time but you wouldn’t expect less from such a large battery.
Almost all of these Aukey product come with an LED that can be used as an emergency torch which thank fully I have never had to use but am always grateful is there.
All in all I am very happy with this power bank and will be travelling with it wherever I go.
Highly recommended.
